Meet NANCY BOWLING, 1 of 12 authors with featured book covers in NYC-TIME SQUARE for the month of April - ROUND 2...... STAY TUNED,

GOD DID IT

Nancy Bowling Shines in Times Square—From Trials to Triumph

A book cover illuminated in the heart of Times Square is more than a milestone—it’s a beacon of hope. This month, Nancy Bowling, nurse, mother, student, and award-winning author, watched her story climb up to the bright lights of New York City. The moment marked a powerful testament not just to her journey, but to anyone who’s ever wondered if their dreams could matter on a world stage.

A Moment in Times Square

When news broke that her book would be featured in Times Square, Nancy’s first reaction was pure awe and gratitude. “My first immediate reaction was to look at God and say thank you for making a way when I thought there was no way. When I first released my book there was a buzz and then that buzz died down. I knew I needed to advertise however I had no means of doing so, so this opportunity came along right when it was indeed needed. It has put a flame back under me and boosted my confidence.”

But visibility in such an iconic space is about more than recognition—it’s about impact. Nancy hopes her visibility inspires “regular everyday people” to believe that their wildest dreams are possible. She says, “I pray those who know my story find some spark of inspiration. You have no limit except yourself—keep pushing for your dreams and goals. Even when you feel there is no way, God will make a way.”

Writing Through Life’s Complexity

As a mother, a nurse, a student, and now an author, Nancy carries—and gives—so much. She admits these experiences deeply shaped the themes and truths found in her writing. Her upbringing, marred by childhood trauma and longing for a different kind of love, built within her a deep-rooted resilience.

“My takeaway is trauma is a horrible thing—but it can be a driving force, a motivator if you will. The life lesson I needed and wanted to share was to never give up on yourself. Sometimes, being selfish is your only chance for survival.”

For Nancy, writing wasn’t just catharsis—it was survival. “My therapist challenged me to write from my heart what I was feeling. When I finally finished, I cried. It was so cathartic, it was truly medicine to my soul.” She hopes other caregivers and professionals realize that “if you’re unwell or put yourself on the backburner, you can’t provide proper care to anyone else.”

Advocacy: For Others—and Herself

Advocating for family, patients, and colleagues is second nature to Nancy. But protecting her own space and needs took time, self-work, and therapy. “If you asked me three years ago what two things I like to do for myself, my immediate answer would be ‘let me get back to you.’ Now I have a list because I’ve taken the time to care for myself.”

To those who wear many hats, she offers: “Prioritize you. If you’re not your best self, you are doing more harm than good for those you serve.”

Challenges, Doubts, and Determination

Writing her book—80% biographical—meant facing the challenge of telling her truth while honoring the privacy of others. Names and places were changed, but Nancy’s heart remains raw on every page. “Once I started writing there was never a point when I doubted myself. I needed to purge, and it just happened to be purged into book form.”

The most memorable feedback came from a young woman at her book signing: Nancy’s words encouraged her to stop living in the past and step into her future. That’s the power of vulnerability and truth.

The Next Chapter

What’s next? Nancy is unstoppable: she’s working on her Master’s in Nursing Education, becoming ONC certified, building her podcast, and writing her second book. She’s a tireless advocate for under-served communities and continues to speak up—for patients, nurses, and now, fellow writers.

Her mission is clear: “Whenever I can help or lend a hand, I will.”

Inspiration and Legacy

Nancy’s son is her greatest motivator. “I want my son to look at me and say my mom did it all when the deck was stacked against her. My legacy is one of triumph and perseverance. I am in no way perfect. I am God Modified and Original—Imperfectly Made By Perfection.”

A Message for the Overlooked

To anyone doubting their value or feeling unseen, Nancy insists: “Look in the mirror and tell yourself, ‘YOU ARE GOD MODIFIED AND ORIGINAL IMPERFECTLY MADE BY PERFECTION.’ Say it until you believe it.”

From Times Square and beyond, Nancy Bowling is proof that with faith, courage, and resilience, we can all shine a little brighter—no matter where we start.
